I come from the East of Slovakia where are the most of cultural facilities. So I decided that I sketch you a castle which is the most famous on the East of Slovakia. It is called the Spiš castle.

This castle counts among the biggest ruin in the Central Europe. In 1993 the Spiš castle was registered in the list of world culture and natural inheritance UNESCO. In this castle complex we can find exhibition from the Spiš museum about history of castle, medieval weapon and feudally judiciary.

I would recommend you visit not only the castle, but its surroundings which is very beautiful as well. For instance :

* Spišské podhradie

This is the town which arose in 11 century. There we can admire beautiful streets and square surrounding with houses from the Renaissance. There are a lot of sacral buildings for example : church which is called ,, Kostol narodenia panny Márie´´, baroque complex which consist from ,, Kláštor milosrdných bratov a Kostol Sv. Jána z Boha.

* Spišká kapitula

It is the city memories place, which is situated in the west of the Spišské Podhradie. Its the

most important build is the Katedrála Sv. Martina.

* Náučný chodník Sivá Brada – Dreveník

The pathway is 14,5 kilometres long. When we walk on this pathway we visit all facilities which Spiš castle contains. At the end this jaunt we get to the Spiš castle. The biggest travertine formation in Slovakia is hill Dreveník (609 metres).
