The Slovak Republic stands before one of the most important decisions for the next five years. This weekend belongs to these more important because of the Slovak presidential election which constitutes the most interesting event of our boring politics. 2 million voices, a number of people whose the new head of a state has to convince on its electoral program. The president is mainly a representant of the Slovak Republic but he is also the highest institutional functionary, signs laws, appoints and appeals the members of a government. A red carpet is rolled out before Bratislava's Grassalkovič Palace, the official seat of the Slovak president. Seven candidates are standing in the first round of the presidential election, which will be held on Saturday, March 21. In the first round it is necessary to gain more than a half of valid voices. According to last researches it will be compulsory for voters to participate in the second round because neither of electoral candidates is not the leader in public opinion. Voters can elect from the two most successful candidates from the first round in the second one. From the public point of view, this election will be a fight between actual president Ivan Gašparovič and ex-minister of social affairs and family Iveta Radičová. We will see, whom before-election campaign and promises could convince around 4.25 million beneficiary voters. It is up to us...
