ADRIFT

DVD:A film by Hans Horn based on a traumatic true story tells the thrilling story of six long-time friends who reunite for a tropical cruise aboard a luxury yacht and end up in a fight for their lives. To celebrate his friend Zach`s birthday, Dan invites his old group of friends to join him on a yacht for a cruise. Zach arrives with his girlfriend Lauren and is followed by Amy, her husband James and their newborn baby girl, Sara. Everyone is having a good time. They decided to take a refreshing swim in the open water. Only Dan and Amy aboard so Amy can look after her baby. Dan tries to help Amy to stop with her fear of water ( because Amy has had a lifelong fear of the water since as a child she watched her father drown in the ocean) throwing her into the deep end. He follows jumping into the cool water with others. But what began as a joke soon turns out to be a fatal mistake when the friends discover that they forgot to let down the boarding ladder before they jumped into the water. They try to reach the desk. It is right above their heads, but the exterior hull is too high and slippery to scale. Help from the mainland does not come. Hour after hour they drift through the water. Amy start to be more afraid of situation when she hear baby Sara crying, she is still on board. Adrift is a dramatic thriller with universal and primal fears. The main reason for it success seems to be the simplicity of the story and the universality of the primal fears it engenders.
